Cellulite: Anyone can have it, but how do you treat it?

(WFLX) - The dog days of summer are upon us and many people are lounging around the pool. But, there are those who will never be ready to show a lot of skin, mainly because of a little problem called cellulite.

Cellulite forms when skin loses its elasticity, and large fat cells develop creating bulges and dimples.

As many as 90 percent of women have cellulite, and according to dermatologists, thin or heavy, any woman can develop it. It doesn't matter if that woman is black, white, or Asian. It doesn't matter if that woman eats and does everything right, cellulite can still unfortunately develop.

So, how do you get rid of it? Experts say there are few things you can do to curb the dimples. However, one would be to quit smoking. Lighting up damages connective tissues that cause wrinkling. Also, watch your weight and exercise.

There are some cosmetic procedures to treat cellulite, like lasers, injections and deep massage therapy, but they are expensive and temporary.
