AT&T placing halt on iPhone 4 pre-orders

(WFLX) - AT&T is suspending iPhone 4 pre-orders after an overwhelming demand for the product.

Apple says AT&T took orders for more than 600,000 of the smart phones. The phone company says it will continue taking orders when additional inventory becomes available.

iPhone aficionados are already plotting to camp out next Thursday when the phones officially hit stores. "If I get there when the store opens, I'll get it. If I come there at this time, it will be sold out."

"They told me that they are going to have people waiting for two days before."

If you think waiting around for the latest gadget is ridiculous, wait until you hear how much people are willing to pay. Right now, EBay reservations to buy the two to three hundred dollar phones are going for nearly twelve hundred bucks.
