A year later, two men face consequences of Cove Road accident

(WFLX) - Nearly a year after three teens died in a drinking and driving accident near Stuart, two men are facing misdemeanor charges.

24-year-old Craig Frick and his former roommate 28-year-old David Harper are charged with holding a house party where minors drank alcohol last August.

Prosecutors say 18-year-old Nicholas Coady, 18-year-old Chris Briglio and 16-year-old Connor Graver attended the party. After leaving, they were killed in the crash on Cove Road.

When we went to Harper's home, we spoke to an unidentified man who did not want to talk about the charges. "I mean these are only allegations."

"What do you have to say about it?"

"What do you think of the fellows who passed away in this accident?"

"They were all my friends, but I still have no comment with all that happening."

Troopers recommended the men face felony charges, but prosecutors opted for misdemeanors instead. They face up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine if convicted.
