South Africa's #1 fan

SOUTH AFRICA (WFLX) - Think you're a die hard soccer fan? Listen to this-- A fan of the South African soccer team is officially the team's number one fan.

The 29-year-old has set a world record for attending the most matches at a World Cup tournament. He broke the record when he watched Spain play Chile Friday. It was the twenty-first match of the tournament that he had watched, and while it was physically demanding, this fan says it's his love for the game that kept him going.

"I would want to cry sometimes because I'd fall asleep for only three hours of twenty-four hours. It's been so hectic and I told myself that I love soccer, I'm going to make this and I'm going to make my country proud."

He also adds that even though South Africa is out of the group stages, he hopes Ghana can carry Africa's hopes on to the finals.
