Jupiter man gets deal instead of jail time

JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - Wednesday, 20-year-old Michael Morris Booth of Jupiter was in court pleading guilty to lesser charges of possessing obscene material.

When Morris was 17, investigators found child pornography on his home computer. He told agents he was only "curious" and the porn made him sick. Morris potentially faced more than 100 years of prison time.

Under a deal with prosecutors, Morris avoids prison, but must speak to people about the dangers and seriousness of child porn. Schools, groups, as many people as he can send a message to, not to do what he did, because it's not only stupid, it's criminal.

Morris did not want to comment on camera.
