Drowning prevention: Local boy gives back

Posted by Elizabeth Stewart - email

(WFLX) - One young drowning survivor is making it his mission to save other local children.

Jake King was just 3 and a half when he was found face down in his grandparents' pool and was brought back to life. Now, he's 10 and training to be a junior lifeguard.

"I felt really happy that I could live another day."

The Drowning Prevention Coalition in Palm Beach County is offering pool safety cards that you can stick to a window near your home pool. It has CPR instructions and rescue tips.

They are available through the Palm Beach County sheriff's department.
