(WFLX) - Big winners to announce after more than one thousand dogs strutted their stuff at the AKC All Breed Dog Show yesterday.
The 65th annual Jupiter-Tequesta Dog Club show featured dogs from throughout the nation, including some ranked in the top of their class. This year, mix breeds also got the chance to compete in the obedience and rally competitions.
Organizers tells us the show draws in thousands of dollars for Palm Beach County and that eventually their goal is to make it one of the top competitions in the world. They tell us their hope is that people who come to dog shows will be encouraged to adopt one of their own.
"If they wanted to see a particular dog, this would be the place to see that dog 'cause this would be a prime example of any given breed."
This year, the Best in Show prize went to an Afghan Hound named Dylan and a Skye Terrier named Buddy Goodman. Dylan is the number one Afghan in the nation and the number two Hound in the country.
