Delta pilot saves passenger, flies away

(WFLX) - "When somebody does something good for you, which isn't very often, you want to thank them." And who wouldn't? But this couple says Delta is denying their request to get the name of the pilot who helped Alan Leslie at the Atlanta Airport last month.

His leg was torn up by the escalator. "The steps started to flatten with one of his legs against it and it tore into the skin."

Alan was bleeding everywhere, but a Delta captain stopped to help.

"He opened his suitcase and took out a pristine white shirt and said 'I haven't done first aid in a while.'"

But he compressed his leg and the pilot got people to call for help, twice, and stayed with them until the paramedics got there. But then, he left for Cincinnati and they never got his name.

"An angel came and took care of Alan and then flew away, literally. He flew away. So now I want to find the angel and thank him."

Alan acknowledges the escalator accident was his own fault and says this is not about blame, but about thanks.

"I just assume Delta wants to protect themselves from lawsuit and that is not in the consideration at all."
