Store clerk shot in apparent robbery identified

WEST PALM BEACH --A store clerk killed in an apparent early-morning robbery has been identified investigators said.

John Lauseng, of Boynton Beach, 44, was shot at about 9 a.m. at West Palm Beach Gold & Coin Exchange, located at 1784 N. Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach.

Deputies have closed Congress Avenue between Okeechobee and Westgate because of the crime scene investigation.

Investigators are searching for three men driving a green, 15-passenger, ford Econoline-type  van. At least two of the men are armed.

The clerk died St. Mary's Medical Center.
