BROWARD COUNTY(WFLX)---The wishy-washy would-be robber who made national headlines after a Metro PCS employee talked him out of committing a crime by reminding him that Jesus has "something way better" for him apparently left her store and robbed a shoe store a few hours later.

Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives arrested Israel Camacho, a 37-year-old serial robber from Coral Springs, on Sunday, July 25. He was charged with armed robbery after surveillance video at Payless Shoe Store captured him at 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 23, putting a handgun in a shoe box and forcing a clerk to hand him cash from the register. When he left, he said "God Bless you" and slowly walked out of the store, witnesses said.

That was less than three hours after his 10 a.m. attempt at the Metro PCS in Pompano Beach. Surveillance video there showed him entering the store and chatting with employee Nayara Goncalves about cell phones. Then he displayed a gun and demanded money from the cash register. Goncalves, who was alone in the store with Camacho, remained calm. She told him she wasn't judging him. The two talked about church and God during their five-minute long conversation. Goncalves eventually convinced Camacho to take the right path and not hurt her. He was apologetic and left with nothing.

Evidence gathered during the investigation led detectives to Camacho, who was already in BSO's main jail. A charge of attempted armed robbery was added to his charges Friday, July 30.
