PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - The driver, who was hit in a car accident Wednesday and left the scene, turned himself in to the Port St. Lucie Police Department four hours later.

After the accident on Port St. Lucie Blvd and SE Gowin Drive, 25-year-old Wildens Dorlean left a Ford Expedition and ran south on Gowin Drive carrying a black case or clip board.

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Dorlean said he fled the scene because he thought he did not have insurance on his car or a valid license.

Police say 90-year-old Edmond Galloway, the driver of the other vehicle, is at fault after going west on Port St. Lucie Boulevard then turning onto Gowin -- directly into Dorleans' path.

Galloway was transported to the Trauma Center in Ft. Pierce and still remains in critical condition. The passenger in Dorlean's car was taken to St. Lucie Medical Center for minor injuries.
