EDGEWATER, FL (WFLX) - A waterspout in the Central Florida town of Edgewater gave people in the neighborhood quite a surprise.

A 9-year-old boy says he was picked up by the spout and taken for a short ride. "I just felt the big gust of wind," described Marshall Llabiak.

Marshall thought it was just another storm headed his way. "I was like, 'Ok, it will pass over in a few seconds.'''

But he soon realized, he was about to come head to head with a waterspout. "Then, I saw a big white thing coming down the canal. Then, it just hit me and threw me 5 feet up in the air," he said.

Marshall was standing outside his clubhouse when the waterspout appeared. His mother started running across the parking lot screaming his name. "I was kind of running in the air, and, then, I started running to my mom," he said. "We were both screaming each others' names at the same time."

As Marshall's mother reached for her son, Mother Nature took the child along for the thrill of his life. "A real fast roller coaster ride. You could feel it take you up and spinning very fast then you felt it letting you down."

But, despite the scare, Marshall can't get over the unbelievable twist to it all -- "Nope not even scratch."

It just lasted a few seconds with the wind, but it's sure to be an everlasting tale to tell through this child's eyes.
