FORT PIERCE--- The drowning of the Ft. Pierce man who fell overboard while trying to drop an anchor has been ruled an accident.

Port St. Lucie police released Friday the results of the investigation, but say the case remains open until toxicology test results come in.

On Monday evening, 44-year old Cornelius McPhall was dropping anchor because the boat's engine had died off the St. Lucie County Marine Center.

His fiancee, Amy Capozzi, told police she tried to grab a rope and help him, but couldn't reach him.
