WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Dozens of motorcyclists hit the road to ride for a Palm Beach County deputy in need Sunday.

In June, Deputy Cheryl Griffin was in a boating accident. Since then, she has undergone therapy and has many more medical treatments in the future. The event started at 10 a.m. at the F.O.P lodge and ended in Pahokee.

Captain William Kenny escorted the riders all to help out fellow Deputy Cheryl Griffin. "You know the whole agency is behind her, we love her and want to continue to provide support for her," he said.

In June, Deputy Griffin lost her arm and severely injured her other in a boating accident. Now, the medical bills are mounting up. So, her friends gathered together to help her raise funds.

Midori Robbins and Heather Simmons spent the last month planning Griffin's motorcycle run. Volunteers or "Team Griff" prepared the riders who took for Pahokee at 10 a.m.

Griffin has months of recovery left, but with all the support, her spirits are high.
