Good Samaritans pull family from flipped SUV

SOUTH BAY, FL (WFLX) - Strangers pull a family of four out of an overturned SUV just before the car bursts into flames. Sadly, it was still too late for one of the boys inside.

Detectives say a father, along with his three sons, was headed northbound on U.S. 27 in South Bay when, for some reason, he came barreling across the median.

Their SUV ended up rolling over, crossing the median in to the southbound lanes, and after the SUV flipped, it caught fire.

Investigators say perfect strangers pulled over and raced to the upside down SUV with the family trapped inside. They were able to get everybody out before it fully erupted into flames.

The father and his 12- and 6-year-old sons were rushed to Delray Medical Center. But, sadly, his 9-year-old son didn't make it.

We're told it wasn't just the family who were hurt. Some of those good Samaritans, who jumped in to help, were injured as they pulled the family one by one out of the burning SUV.
