INDIANAPOLIS (WFLX) - Upsetting information for a South Florida family looking for justice in the death of a motorcyclist.
Prosecutors dropped the drunk driving charges against an Indianapolis police officer accused of killing a Boca High graduate while the officer was on duty.
Investigators say, even though, blood testing confirms the officer had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit, the evidence is not admissible because rules were not followed in the process of drawing the blood.
Eric Wells died in the crash. His family feared something like this would happen because Indianapolis police were in charge of investigating one of their own.
The FBI has now been called in to look at how the department handled the case.
