PBA wants Port St. Lucie Mayor to Resign

Posted by Paige Bresky --email

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX)--- The Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association is calling for the resignation of Port St. Lucie Mayor Patricia Christensen after an email she sent to friends and co-workers accusing police officers of releasing information and going after her family.

In the email, she wrote, "they want my blood".

This was all in response to her 18-year-old son Erik's recent arrest for giving alcohol to a minor at the family home on July 30.

The mayor's email implied her son's arrest was politically motivated.

The PBA says they are considering an ethics complaint against the mayor for alleged misuse of her public position.

Christensen has less than three months remaining on her current term and she is not running for re-election.

The police union has scheduled a news conference for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at 2100 N. Florida Mango Road in West Palm Beach.
