OKEECHOBEE, FL (WFLX) - The Okeechobee County Health Department announced Friday the three teens who may have been exposed to rabies have been found.
The families of the boys contacted the Health Department Friday morning and are scheduled to begin treatment Friday afternoon.
Rabies post-exposure treatment consists of vaccinations of a dose of human rabies immune globulin and four doses of rabies vaccine given upon exposure.
The vaccine is given in a muscle, usually in the upper arm, and is highly effective at preventing rabies.
The Okeechobee County Health Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in locating these children.
