Three cars stolen from Wallace dealerships

STUART, FL --- Four men went into a dealership and managed to switch a car's ignition key with a fake one Monday.

Reports say the suspects looked at a 2009 GMC Yukon at Wallace Jeep at 2775 South Federal Highway, distracted a salesman and left with a stolen key.

The men then went to the Wallace Nissan dealership at 4313 South Federal Highway and did the same thing.

This time, they looked at and switched the keys for four different cars.

Overnight, the GMC Yukon was stolen from Wallace Jeep and a 2010 Nissan Armada and a 2009 Nissan Maxima were stolen from Wallace Nissan.

The suspects arrived at both dealerships in a newer, beige Cadillac Escalade.

The cars were not taken for test drives, so none of the men were asked to produce identification.

None of the suspects have been found at this time.

The Stuart Police is warning all car dealerships to be aware of this scam and to report all suspicious people immediately.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Jeff Kittredge at (561) 220-3911 or treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at (800) 273-TIPS.
