DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) --- The day care where 2-year-old Haile Brockington died in a hot van last month closes on Friday, September 3rd.
Katie's Kids Learning Center lost their government subsidy and without that funding, they cannot afford to stay open.
The owner and her attorney have confirmed that Katie's Kids Day Care will close Friday at 6 p.m.
They still have their day care license, but they say that losing the state and federal tax dollars was a significant blow.
The day care needed the money to help pay for the tuition costs for the 45 children who attend the center.
Katie's Kids was the scene of a tragedy on August 5th when 2-year-old Haile Brockington was forgotten in a hot van by one of the employees.
By the time she was found six hours later, she could not be revived.
