(WFLX) - Shocking information about restaurant meal portions. Chances are you're dining for two.
The food police measured up portion sizes at popular restaurants and discovered that we are being over-served. In fact, portions are at least two times bigger than the governments definition of a serving.
Most dinner-sized pasta dishes are three and a half cups and 840 calories. A serving should be only one cup.
And we've all seen them on the menu. Those 14 ounce steaks, but, according to the USDA, a single serving of meat is really only four ounces!
So if you want to maintain a healthy caloric intake, split your meals with someone else -- it'll save you money and calories.
