St. Lucie officer sits in jail charged with sexual battery

FT PIERCE, FL (WFLX) - A St. Lucie County deputy was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual battery for an incident that happened early Monday morning.

Update, WED 10 PM: A judge sets a $260,000 bond for a St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputy accused of sexual battery.

Deputy Matthew Morris is now in the St. Lucie Jail; he's also been placed on administrative leave.

A woman says Morris forced her to perform a sex act on him on the grounds of a school in  Ft. Pierce. Morris was on duty at the time.

Previously: Investigators say Deputy Matthew Blair Morris was on duty when he met a woman walking near the Ft. Pierce Magnet School of the Arts.

He later ordered her onto the school grounds and forced her to perform sex acts on him. Deputy Morris indicated to the victim he had done this to another woman, as well.

Investigators are now looking for a second potential victim.

Deputy Morris is a three-year veteran of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.

Morris will appear in court Wednesday morning to face charges of sexual battery and official misconduct.
