No Wal-Mart in Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH - People in Delray Beach are getting their wish.  There will be no new Wal-Mart in their neighborhood.  FOX 29 has learned the plans for the new store have fallen through.

Hundreds of Delray Beach residents had protested the retailer's move to open there.  Now, the discount giant has cancelled it's re-zoning request with the city.  That means Wal-Mart will no longer attempt to build the store on Federal Highway near Linton.

It's not clear whether the protests and rallies played a factor in Wal-Mart's decision to withdraw its request.
