Video captures man stealing $8,000 boat trailer

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A boat trailer disappears. The homeowner has no idea where it went until he looks at his own surveillance video and watches the crook drive away with an $8,000 piece of equipment in broad daylight.

"It was parked in the driveway, and nobody seems to know what happened," said Ken Jerkins. He had no idea what happened to his boat trailer on October 4.

He came outside his West Palm Beach home, and it was gone. His $8,000 trailer was missing from the place he left it. Then, he looked at his own surveillance video.

He added the cameras outside his home to protect his family, so, when he looked at the tape on October 4, he couldn't believe what he saw. "He actually waited 'cause the lawn man was there. He waited till the mans van pulled away."

Then, a silver Dodge pickup rolls up, quickly attaches the boat trailer and drives off.

Jenkins says police told him a similar truck did the same thing at another home.
