Boca teen donates birthday money to breast cancer research

BOCA RATON, FL (WFlX) - Get pink manicures and pedicures to help out breast cancer research -- that was the idea behind the Third Annual Pink Challenge in Boca Raton.

The Nail Depot held the fundraiser Sunday giving 100 percent of the profits to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. The owner's 14-year-old daughter jump-started the fundraiser Saturday night by holding a birthday party, donating all her gift money to the foundation.

"We went to Think Pink Rocks three years ago, and the lady inspired me," said Rose Tosti. "And I came home that night and said, 'You know, I have this business and what could we do?'"

"I didn't think I needed anything, and I wanted to help out, too," said Briana Tosti. Her birthday party raised more than $1,500.

Over the past two years, the Nail Depot has donated $18,000.
