Loxahatchee teen hit by school bus now stable

LOXAHATCHEE, FL (WFLX) - A student, hit by a school bus near Seminole Ridge High School, is in stable condition at St. Mary's Medical Center, and his injuries are now described as non life-threatening.

Update, WED 12 PM: Police say Ryan Garcia, 17, was crossing Seminole Pratt Whitney Road from east to west going to school when he was hit by an empty school bus. Initially, authorities reported he had major head trauma and suffered life-threatening injuries.

The accident was reported at Seminole Pratt Whitney Road north of Sycamore Drive West. Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue responded to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, at Seminole Pratt Whitney Road north of Sycamore Drive Wes, about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The student is described as a 17-year-old Hispanic male, and he has major head trauma.

Police say he was crossing Seminole Pratt Whitney Road from east to west going to school when he was hit by an empty school bus.
