WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Still no trial date for Paul Michael Merhige. He's charged with killing four family members in Jupiter last Thanksgiving.
Merhige was led into court Tuesday surrounded by several deputies.
Prosecutors told the judge they could be ready for trial by May, but, the defense says, February 2012 is more realistic.
The father of one of the murder victims, 6-year-old Makayla Sitton, stopped briefly to talk with reporters. "As for the family, we can't really say much. We just wanted to say that we love Makayla, and we're here for her," said Jim Sitton.
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Merhige
As for the trial date that could be decided after the New Year.
