Suspected Belle Glade gang makes first appearance

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Suspected Belle Glade gang members made their first appearance in court Thursday a day after their arrest.

Accused members of the "Jackboyz" gang all paraded into court before a judge. Eventually all 15 suspects saw the judge.

The judge ordered three men to be held without bail. For the rest, their bail was set at least $500,000.

Family members were also at the courthouse Thursday. One defended the group. "Ain't none of them are gang members. All they do is just make music and just hang out. That's all they do. Ain't none of them are gang members," said Alvin Trice.

The sheriff's office says the "Jackboyz" terrorized a Belle Glade neighborhood for more than 10 years -- committing crimes ranging from attempted murders to armed home invasions.
