(WFLX) - A veteran politician is considering a comeback for the biggest political prize of all.
Newt Gingrich's recent visit to Iowa prompted questions about whether he's considering a run for the presidency in 2012.
"If I decide to run, it will be because, I think, there's a real chance to win, and help the American people reorganize this country to get it back to success again," said Gingrich. "If I just wanna make noise, I can make noise without being a candidate. It's a lot less expensive."
If he does run, Gingrich will have to deal with uncomfortable questions about his personal life. He admitted to cheating on his second wife with a member of his staff. All while leading the move to impeach President Clinton for lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Gingrich married that staffer back in 2000.
