Home burglarized after Facebook vacation post

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - This will make you think twice about what you post on Facebook. A Port St. Lucie man told his friends he was on vacation.

When he returned, he found his place completely ransacked and someone had stolen the family's giant flat screen TV, electronics and jewelry.

The Barrios family was so excited about their four-day getaway to New York, they posted all about it on Facebook.

They realized, however, it was a big mistake. The family thinks some friends of their friends on Facebook got wind of the vacation and broke into their home.

So far no arrests have been made.

Previously, we told you the '8 Biggest Facebook Mistakes'. Incidently, #8 is as follows:

"If you're going on vacation, resist the temptation to post it on Facebook. It's an open invitation for a cyber criminal to visit your home when you're not home."
