EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO (CNN) - A Missouri man was going to apply for a job, when he thought of an easier way to get money.

Officials say he robbed the bank next door instead.

The heist didn't work out so well for 31-year-old Joseph Laird. He was arrested just a few minutes after allegedly robbing the bank on Friday.

Investigators say they found about $1,500 dollars in Laird's car.
