Camel falls onto church members during Christmas performance

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A dress rehearsal held Thursday night at a West Palm Beach church takes an interesting turn when a camel falls onto the pews.

A video posted on YouTube shows the camel's fall inside the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach as they're practicing for their annual Christmas play, "Project Christmas".

Choir member Jane Pike was on stage when the camel entered the sanctuary. She says the camel was about two-thirds down the aisle, when he knelt down to let one of the 'kings', who was riding him, get off.

But when the camel started to stand back up, apparently, something startled him, and he fell over getting stuck on the pews.

Pike says no one was injured, and the veterinarian, who provides the camel for the church's performance along with the camel's handler, was able to get the camel up and outside of the church.

The Christmas show continues through this weekend at the church in downtown West Palm Beach.

It's not clear if the camel will remain in the program.
