Lauren LaPonzina joined Florida's highest rated television station in March of 2009 and was promoted to the anchor desk within months. Lauren now solo anchors Today on Five at 4:30AM, serves as the Breaking News Anchor on Today on Five from 5am to 7am, and co-anchors NewsChannel 5's Midday newscast every weekday.
She also serves as the Live Desk Anchor from 7am to 9am on WFLX, Fox 29.
Lauren is an Emmy nominated, seasoned journalist with more than a decade of experience as an anchor and reporter in Florida, New York, and Maryland. Some of her career highlights include covering the Casey Anthony case for Fox News Channel, riding along in a Presidential motorcade, helping Floridians through several hurricanes and tornadoes, and sitting down with the legendary Bill Cosby for a one-on-one interview.
When she's not working, you can find Lauren at the beach with her husband and their two dogs or at one of Palm Beach County's fantastic waterfront restaurants. Lauren's golden retriever is a certified Pet Therapy dog. She rescued her English Pointer from a shelter in Fort Pierce.
Lauren also serves as a member of TriCounty Humane Society's Board of Directors.
