Snubbed customer fights doctor, robs pain clinic

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A person, snubbed at a pain clinic in Lake Worth, returned with a gun to press his case. He left after fighting with a doctor and robbing the place police said Monday afternoon.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the suspect pulled the trigger on his gun, but it didn't fire. The sheriff's office also is saying the doctor was pistol-whipped.

"There wasn't much talking. He just knocked the door down and pointed the gun," said Dr. Rahat Faderani.

Afterward, the suspect fled Urgent Plus Pain clinic to a mobile home park off Eighth Avenue where he got into a car driven by someone else and fled. Witnesses got the car's tag number, and deputies tracked it down to the 3000 block of Congress Park Drive which was evacuated for an hour and a half while the suspected gunman and getaway driver were holed up in an apartment.

The standoff ended peacefully with the arrest of Jeffery Frederick, 24, who will likely charged with attempted murder among other charges, and Friendley Sertile, 21, the alleged driver of the getaway car.

They are expected to appear before a judge Tuesday morning.
