(WFLX) - Strangers save a deer, who fell into freezing water, and they get slapped with a ticket.
The two men got the deer out, but they were fined for not wearing life vests. The ticket did not list any specific violations -- just a $90 fine.
"When we released the deer, it felt really good, and you can't ever replace that feeling, you know, seeing that you saved an animal and a life," said Khalil Abusakran.
The two men say they plan to fight the ticket in court.
As for the deer, he was able to escape into the woods.
