Education: University of New Brunswick Science Degree in Math/Physics Post Graduate Meteorology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Work Experience: Steve joined NewsChannel 5 in July 1998. Previously, he worked for the Canadian Television Network, and with the Canadian Weather Service. Also a brief internship with a private ocean forecasting company.
A full member of the American Meteorological Society, Steve holds the new CBM Seal from the AMS, the highest seal awarded to television meteorologists. Career highlights include 2004 Hurricane Frances, where he was on air almost continuously for 67 hours, and 2004 Hurricane Jeanne exactly three weeks later. Hurricane Wilma in October 2005 was also a highlight. Also memorable was the August 2003 tornado that tore through Northern Palm Beach County(and over his house). Community work includes the American Red Cross (Steve's Ride for the Red Cross), Palm Beach Literacy Coalition, and Cystic Fibrosis. Steve talks to tens of thousands of viewers each year about hurricane preparedness.
Steve is married to the love of his life and has a son. And of course Beau the weather dog and Meeko the ragdoll cat. In his spare time he plays golf, tennis and runs at the beach.
