Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Jason Pugh came down to South Florida in 2001 to play football for the Florida Atlantic Owls.  Although he was rated the 98th best player in FAU football history by the popular website FAUOwlAccess.com, the FAU sports Hall-of-Famer wasn't at college just to smack around opponents on the gridiron.  Jason was a Mass Communications major and an English minor, studying television and newspaper.  He was also heavily involved in the university's student radio station.

Before coming to WPTV, Jason held a variety of jobs in the business of sports media.  He interned at ESPN 760 starting in 2003, and was hired in 2006.  Jason debuted as an on-air personality for the radio station in 2007, and became a regular on Evan Cohen's show in 2009.  Jason worked for the Palm Beach Post from 2005-2009, and worked with the Florida High School Athletic Association radio network for high school football coverage.

Jason is an avid Jacksonville Jaguars and FAU Owls fan, and his love for the Jags has spawned his hate for the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are his least favorite sports team, mostly because they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the '99-‘00 AFC Championship, a season in which the Titans handed the Jags all three of their losses for the entire year.  Jason believes that year was the best shot as his team winning the Super Bowl before it inevitably moves to Los Angeles.

According to the man himself, Jason is a pretty boring person outside of work.  Though his dating life is a recurring theme on Evan Cohen's radio show, he is currently single.  He'll occasionally go out and enjoy some time with friends, but these days Jason often finds himself occupied with radio work, TV work, sporting events, and food.  He is excited to work with WPTV because of his connections with local sports and the new opportunity it presents.

Something you may not know about Jason: He was cut from his junior high basketball team, just like Michael Jordan, except instead of becoming one of the greatest athletes of all-time, he went home and cried that day.

His favorite movies of all-time are Ray, The Program, and Good Fellas.  In terms of music, Jason will listen to anything from Drake to Miley Cyrus.

Jason's favorite athletes of all-time are Clyde Drexler, Barry Sanders, Fred Taylor, and Ken Griffey, Jr.

Oh, and maybe himself too.  After all, Jason Pugh is the 98th best player in FAU football history.
