Artificial reef project memorializes Lynn soccer student

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - A Lynn University student, who died in a tragic accident, will be forever remembered in the waters he loved to explore.

Kyle Conrad died in December after falling from a bridge in Fort Lauderdale.

He was a stand-out student and an all-american soccer player.

Now, the Jensen Beach community along with the Martin County Angler Club Reef Fund have raised money to purchase a tugboat in memory of Kyle for an artificial reef project.

"What a great memorial to Kyle and a great legacy for him and his family both to have a place that will be on charts permanetly," said family friend Chris Wigley.  The site will be named the Kyle Conrad memorial artificial reef.

It will be located 10-miles east of the St. Lucie Inlet.
