Condo Battle Forces Elderly Residents Out

FT. PIERCE, FL (WFLX) A battle between a condo association and the people it represents is forcing some elderly residents out.

Inlet House in Ft. Pierce is undergoing a massive plumbing repair project.

Money from the condo association reserves ran out, so the association assessed the homeowners.

Many of the elderly residents are on fixed incomes and couldn't pay.

Now the association is putting liens on the condos, and foreclosing on some units.

"If I could see the end of bad spending of money, I could probably borrow the money from my family, said homeowner Gail Gross.  "But as long as the property manager and her puppets are in play, I think they're always going to think of something, some horrendous expense to put the have-nots under."
