SUBURBAN LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - Authorities say a masked man who robbed a suburban Lake Worth bank Wednesday morning may have committed at least three other robberies in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The man, who was wearing sunglasses and a wool cap when he jumped the bank's counter, was also wearing an "elderly person" Halloween mask and brandishing a silver revolver.

The mask and revolver are what makes Palm Beach County Sheriff's investigators believe the man is a suspect in two earlier robberies in Broward and one in Palm Beach Gardens, according to sheriff's Sgt. George Grosso.

Witnesses said around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, the masked man walked into the Bank of America branch office, at 4364 S. State Road 7, and jumped the counter before demanding money.

The witnesses said the man then screamed at a frantic female bank employe to "shut up" and pointed the gun at her face.

Grosso said the man took off on foot with an undetermined amount of money. The sheriff's office later said it's possible the suspect got into a white Toyota Scion with a partial tag of 252 or 262 with dark tinted windows.

The bank employees did not trip a silent alarm but called authorities.

Grosso said a sheriff's office K-9 unit tried tracking the man but was unsuccessful. He said an advisory will be issued later for the public to be on the lookout for the man.

No one was injured, he said, but two employees and one customer were taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center "with anxiety issues."

The FBI has joined in the investigation, Grosso said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
