Free Facebook on flights in February

SAN FRANCISCO (USA TODAY) - How would you like your Facebook status to read: "Riding high at 30,000 feet"?

This month, seven airlines are offering free in-flight Internet access to Facebook. They are:

  • AirTran Airways
  • Alaska Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • Delta Air Lines
  • United Airlines
  • U.S. Airways
  • Virgin America

Internet access will be free while travelers are on Facebook, but they'll have pay to go elsewhere on the Web.

The free Wi-Fi is being paid for by Ford Motor Company as part of its promotion for the 2011 Ford Explorer.
