PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - Every month, women of all ages come together to enjoy food, shopping and socializing at PGA National Resort and Spa. It's a busy time as the resort is gearing up for their annual golf tournament.

"The Honda Classic starts February 28 and runs through March 6," said Craig Falanga, Director of Marketing for PGA National Resort. "Last year, there was a 140,000 spectators on the grounds of PGA National for the week of the event."

And here's why you'll have an edge if you stay as a guest during the tournament. "There's a pretty good chance you're going to run into a PGA Tour professionals who are going to hang out and have a drink and just mingle after the round. Then, you can walk to the tournament the next day and walk back to your room at night. You don't have to worry about parking or shuttles."

Tournament director Ed McEnroe is busy working on his fifth Honda Classic. "The experience for the players, the fans, the sponsors, there's not too many markets where you can have everything on property -- from the resort, the spa and everything on site -- as well."

And golfing isn't the only thing McEnroe and his committee are focused on. "We started with the Birdies for Children Program last year, and this is our second year," said Andrew George with the Honda Classic. "We're challenging local 501c to get out there and utilize the Honda Classic."

Now, I'm not the biggest golfer, but I do know a thing or two about shopping, and this was quite an event if you enjoy shopping. From candles to dresses to jewelry, Girls' Night Out has all the essentials.

But shopping isn't my first love, it's food and wine. Here's how the PGA National Resort is putting them together. "We're taken all the golf legends, Nick Faldo, Luke Donald, and we've taken all their wines. Now, we're pairing those wines with a final dinner that's going to be held next week" said Daryl Wilde, VP of Food and Beverage.

That's February 16 -- two days after Valentine's Day, and here's how you boys are going to stay out of trouble this year. "We're running a special, if you purchase $300 or more in gift certificates [at the spa], we'll give you an overnight stay at the resort for free," said Kristin Esper, spa manager.

Therefore, men go on ahead and get in good graces with your ladies. The Honda Classic is just around the corner.
