Delray Beach Sgt. Adam Rosenthal Laid To Rest

DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) A hero's welcome awaited sergeant Adam Rosenthal in his hometown of Parkland.

Outside the Congregation Kol Tikvah, hundreds of cars lined the street, with friends and colleagues from as far as Tampa, there to pay their respects.

"We know Adam because of his father, and he was a phenomenal person, this is not right," said Jean Kesneor, a family friend at attending the memorial service Sunday.

Gathering their strength and fighting back the tears, Rosenthal's brothers from Delray beach police- carried his casket- While hundreds of officers from all over Florida saluted.

"It shows that people care and he was an important person," said Pam Applebaum, said another family friend at attending the memorial service.

Then it was off to Boynton Beach, as a sea of red and blue lights made their way up 441.

Rosenthal's death, not only a loss for the department he has been a member of for 16 years, but to a community he cared so much about.

"My heart goes out to the family, my heart is breaking, he is gone too soon, "said Kesneor.

Rosenthal was laid to rest here at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens , but those who called him a colleague and friend, said his memory will certainly live on.
