Police Find Second Child Dead In Canal

DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) Delray Beach police discovered the body of an African American girl, between the ages of 8 and 10 years of age, in the C-15 canal around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. She is between 70 and 90 pounds, and had beaded braids in her hair.

Around 3:30 p.m., while making a standard search of the area for more evidence, police say they discovered a suitcase with another child's body inside.

Dive teams found the suitcase about half a mile away from where the girl's body was discovered.

According to police, the second body found is an African American boy between the ages of 10 and 12.

Police are assuming the two deaths are related.

Authorities are checking with local schools to see if teachers have noticed any students who have been absent. Descriptions of the two children do not match anyone who has been reported as missing.

Police are asking anyone who has not seen their grandchild, niece, nephew, or any other family member fitting these descriptions to give them a call.

This murder mystery hits the hearts of many parents in the neighborhood. Some people believe the bodies may have been dumped in the last 48 hours.
