WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Police said a 10-year-old girl, doused with chemicals and found dead in the back of her father's truck in West Palm Beach, likely died in Miami.
But police spokesman Chase Scott wouldn't say Thursday whether investigators believe Nubia Barahona died at her adoptive parents' home. No charges have been filed in her death.
Her father, Jorge Barahona, has pleaded not guilty to attempted first-degree murder of her injured twin brother. Victor Barahona was found Feb. 14 in the cabin of the truck along Interstate 95, doused with a toxic chemical. His sister's body was in the back.
Victor was released from the hospital this week.
Miami-Dade police declined comment Thursday about the investigation.
