LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, a Lake Worth woman was attacked by her pet pit bull around 7 a.m. Thursday at a home located in the 2400 block of Avenida Madrid Este in Lake Worth.

This incident marks the second pit bull attack in two days.

Police say, a woman that lived inside the home was attempting to return a stray puppy to its litter.  Authorities say the dog also bit another woman who lived inside the home.

Officials say the owner suffered severe injuries from her elbow to her wrist. Both people were taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center.

On Wednesday, an 18-month-old Suburban West Palm Beach baby girl was attacked by her family's pit bull (read story). The infant suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs and is now recovering from surgery. The child's father was also attacked. Both are expected to survive.
