Undated-AP -- The National Association of Broadcasters says more than one thousand television station are now broadcasting digitally. It means 99 percent of U-S household now have access to a TV station broadcasting in high definition. Sixty-two digital stations have recently signed on, six of them are the first in their markets on air with a D-T-V signal. Dennis Wharton with the N-A-B says for people looking to buy an H-D-T-V compatible television set, they need to look for a tuning device to allow them to access local channels. More and more networks are broadcasting in H-D-T-V. This year, A-B-C is broadcasting the entire season of "Monday Night Football" in high definition. Wharton says the N-A-B considers the conversion to high definition television bigger than the conversion from black and white T-V to color. AP Links: www.nab.org Copyright 2003 Associated Press.
