Lifeguards save 4-year-old from drowning

JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - Lifeguards spring into action after a child nearly drowns in a popular Jupiter wading spot.

A 4-year-old girl was spotted facedown in the water at Dubois Park Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses said the child was lifeless for minutes after she was pulled to shore. "There was foam, white stuff all over her mouth," said Amanda Scewczyk.  "It was really scary and her family was freaking out and I almost started crying because it was really sad."

After a dramatic rescue, and a few minutes of C.P.R., the girl finally came to.

It's still unclear what exactly the parents of this girl were doing when this all happened.

Her parents were nearby during the rescue and were seen on their knees praying their daughter would be ok.

She's now at Jupiter Medical Center and is expected to recover.
