BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - Groups across Florida are protesting against the use of red light cameras.
Including, one group in Boca Raton protesting at an intersection where Palm Beach County has put up cameras to catch drivers who run red lights.
The statewide protest, Monday, was organized by the Libertarian party of Florida urging the state legislature to rescind their law that allows for the cameras.
That was passed last year. Now, both houses are considering a measure that would ban the cameras.
Although, popular with police, opponents of red light cameras say a number of studies suggest the cameras increase accidents at intersections.
