Barbecue held to honor officer killed in car crash

DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - People in South Florida come together to help the family of a Delray Beach police officer killed in a tragic crash.

Sergeant Adam Rosenthal died in February after his patrol car crashed.

The community that meant so much to Rosenthal, took over Old School Square on Saturday for a special fundraiser to make sure Rosenthal's family and his memory are not forgotten.  Law enforcement officers and people from all over South Florida lined up their bikes, fired up the grill and turned up the music all to show their support for Sergeant Adam Rosenthal's family.

"he was just a very special person,"  said sgt. Nicole guerrero.  "He touched so many people so we all felt like we needed to give back in some way. For me, Adam was like a brother."

Rosenthal was a sixteen-year veteran of the Delray Beach Police Department. He was just 39 years old.
